KINDERFUN 9/26/16-9/30/16

Weekly Newsletter

Snapshot of the week:
This week we will be working on our Square One Art projects! This project is such fun as your child's art work can be turned into stickers, magnets, mugs and more! And they are great for holiday gifts! We have continued working on drilling our FUNdations practice letters and we are getting very good at knowing the cards! This week we will learn "I-itch-/i/" and "U-up-/u/". The extended day students have started working on their handprint alphabet books with Mrs. H and they are adorable! Our focus in math will still be counting strategies and taking our time when we work. Some strategies that we have practiced are count and touch, count and scoot, count and check, and using a ten-frame.
The new additions to our kitchen center have been greatly enjoyed by the kids! Mrs. H and I are working hard to find more play food and accessories for the area. The children have been doing wonderful as they transition each day from our classroom to their specials. We are so proud of their hard work! We are having a lot of fun in K!

This week I will be out of school on Tuesday (9/27) and Wednesday (9/28) as I will be attending a teacher workshop to be more proficient in Open Circle. Please keep in my mind that although I will be checking my email as often as possible, if there are any changes regarding your child's dismissal procedure, it would be best to call the school rather than emailing me to ensure it is known by someone at MSS. Mrs. H will continue checking for any notes you send in as well.
