Snapshot of the week:
This week we will be focusing on fire safety in preparation for our walking field trip next Tuesday, 10/11! Our students will be encouraged to create/learn about the plan for fire safety at your home. We have continued working on practicing our FUNdations letters and we are getting very good at knowing the cards! We are also focusing on the formation of the letters, and work on this both as whole group and during centers. This week we will learn "C-cat-/c/" and "O-octopus-/o/". Our focus in math will still be counting strategies and taking our time when we work. We will be spending more time on using ten-frames this week. During Open Circle, we have practiced using "non-verbal signals" to communicate with others. We've both used and discussed signals such as raising a hand, thumbs up, "Shh", etc. We have also talked about ways to use words to stand up for yourself -- in our class we often use "no thank you" and "please stop".
Last week was a little tricky as Mrs. H and I both had to be out for a few days, but we were so proud of how well the class did without us! They were very quick to follow our usual routines and be successful throughout the day! Keep up the great work Kinders!
